DAY 1 – March 23, 2028

Upon arrival at Tanjung Priok International Passenger Port, you are welcomed by your English-speaking guide and assisted to a private, air-conditioned vehicle for the short drive into Jakarta’s old quarters.

Begin with a visit to Museum Wayang, home to one of Indonesia’s most fascinating collections of shadow puppets. The museum showcases intricately crafted leather and wooden puppets from across the archipelago, reflecting centuries of storytelling traditions rooted in Javanese and Balinese culture. Your guide will provide insight into the symbolism, characters and performances that bring these puppets to life.

Continue into the heart of Kota Tua to Fatahillah Square, the historic centre of Batavia during the Dutch colonial period. Surrounded by well-preserved colonial buildings, the square offers a glimpse into Jakarta’s layered past and time to explore at a relaxed pace.

Lunch is served at a carefully selected local restaurant, featuring a family-style Indonesian menu, allowing guests to sample a range of regional flavours in a comfortable setting.

In the afternoon, visit a Jamu workshop, where you will be introduced to Indonesia’s traditional herbal medicine. Learn about the natural ingredients used in Jamu, their health benefits and cultural significance, followed by a tasting of freshly prepared blends.

Guests then transfer to House of Tugu for check-in. This distinctive boutique hotel is more than a place to stay; it is a living museum of Indonesian art and history, filled with carefully curated antiques, artefacts and stories that reflect the country’s rich cultural heritage. There is time to relax and freshen up before the evening programme begins.

Dinner is served at the hotel in a private room, where a storytelling experience accompanies the meal, bringing Indonesia’s history, folklore, and cultural traditions to life in an intimate and memorable setting, perfectly complementing the surroundings.

DAY 2 – March 24, 2028

After breakfast, the day begins with a transfer from House of Tugu to Whoosh Station, where guests board Indonesia’s high-speed train. Reaching speeds of up to 350 km/h (217 mph), the journey offers a smooth and efficient ride through the landscapes of West Java.

On arrival in Bandung, explore the city’s historic centre beginning along Braga Street, once the social heart of the Dutch East Indies. Lined with preserved colonial façades, cafés and art deco architecture, the area retains a distinct old-world charm. Pause at Braga Permai—established in 1918—for coffee and pastries, where original recipes and the iconic red-canopy frontage have been carefully maintained.

Continue through a local Kampung area, offering a glimpse into daily life, while passing notable landmarks including the Savoy Homann Hotel and the Asia-Africa Museum, both closely linked to Bandung’s diplomatic and colonial past.

At the historic Post Office, there is an opportunity to send a postcard with a personalised stamp, before continuing past Gedung Sate, Bandung’s landmark government building, en route to lunch.

Enjoy a Sundanese-inspired lunch at a local restaurant, accompanied by traditional music in a relaxed setting.

In the afternoon, return to Jakarta by high-speed train and coach, arriving back to your hotel where the evening is at your leisure and dinner on your own.

DAY 3 – March 25, 2028

Escape Jakarta’s urban pace with a scenic drive to Bogor, home to Indonesia’s most renowned botanical gardens. Spanning over 200 acres, Bogor Botanical Gardens offers a peaceful setting of mature trees, expansive lawns, and a diverse collection of tropical flora.

During a guided walk, discover the garden’s history dating back to 1817 and its role as a centre for botanical research in Indonesia. Stroll along shaded pathways as your guide highlights key features, including the impressive giant lily pond, rare orchid collections, and views toward the Presidential Palace grounds.

Following your visit, enjoy lunch at Rasa Restaurant, set within the gardens. The restaurant is known for hosting notable guests, including former U.S. President Barack Obama, and offers a relaxed setting overlooking the surrounding greenery. A curated Indonesian menu is served, showcasing regional flavours in a comfortable and scenic environment.

In the afternoon, return to Jakarta. On arrival, there is time at the hotel to relax and freshen up before the evening. Dinner is included in a restored heritage building known for its refined Indonesian cuisine and atmospheric interior.

DAY 4 – March 26, 2028

After breakfast at House of Tugu, guests are invited to settle any incidental expenses prior to departure.

Once done, meet your guide and transfer by private vehicle to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport for your onward flight to Singapore.

On your arrival in Singapore, you will be greeted by our local representative and transferred to the ship. Note: the flight is not accompanied.

What to Bring:

Comfortable closed-toe walking shoes and lightweight, breathable clothing are recommended, mosquito repellent, hat, sunscreen, camera, charger, binoculars. It can get cool in the evenings, so we also recommend that you bring a light sweater, long sleeve shirt, or shawl. Shoes with a good grip are also recommended as floors can be slippery during wet weather and the ground muddy.

Local Currency:

The local currency in Indonesia is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Credit cards are not widely accepted outside of a few hotels and restaurants, so it is essential to carry cash. While some places may accept US Dollars, it is not guaranteed. Rupiah is strongly preferred for local purchases, tips, and entry fees.

We recommend bringing smaller denominations of USD for emergency use, but it’s best to exchange money before arriving in Indonesia, either in Jakarta or Bandung.

Electricity:

Rooms are typically equipped with 220-volt, two-round-pin (European-style) electrical outlets. We recommend traveling with a universal adapter if you plan to use electronic devices from other countries.

Luggage information:

Please note that the airlines allow a maximum of 1 checked suitcase (20 kg or 44lbs) and one small carry on. Any additional pieces will be in excess, and fees will be paid to the airline at the guests’ expense.

Carriage of Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines on internal flights per airline regulations (subject to change as each airline has their own regulations)

1.Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) - Guests must obtain a Doctor’s Certificate mentioning their medical condition and the need to carry a POC. Further paperwork may be required by the airline.

2.CPAP Machine NOT being used in flight – please advise RSSC at least 95 days before your cruise if you will bring a CPAP on the internal flight(s) used in this land program. Please supply the make, model and battery type.

3.CPAP Machine to be used during flight – same as above + a doctor’s note is required mentioning the need to use the machine during flight.

*Guests are required to bring with them any details from the manufacturer regarding the CPAP specifications. While most modern CPAP machines are FAA-approved for in-flight use, having a copy of your manufacturer’s FAA-approval status will help to quickly clear any confusion that may arise.

* Not providing the above details in a timely manner may result in a denial of this equipment at the airport for which Regent Seven Seas Cruises nor our local ground operator will be responsible for.

*Some hotels do not provide distilled water. While we can certainly request this for you, we cannot guarantee that it will be available. If received in a timely manner, at least 95 days before sailing, requests will be sent on the final manifest that our ground operators and hotels receive. We highly recommend packing your own supply, especially on programs that travel to more remote locations in order to avoid not having it. Please keep in mind the rule for liquids in carry-on bags. Many hotels will charge for distilled water. If there is a fee, this will be added to your hotel incidental account to be paid at check-out. Fees will vary from hotel to hotel.

Documents and Visa Requirements:

This program takes place between Indonesia and Singapore.

A passport that is valid at least 6 months after travel is required

Please check with your local embassy for any visa requirements for your nationality for any of the countries visited on this program.

For arrival into Singapore guests must complete a SG Arrival Card (SGAC) with health declaration submitted within 3 days before arrival. This can be done via the MyICA Mobile app or the official ICA website.

VERY IMPORTANT

The name on your cruise booking, passport, and ANY visas, if required, must all be exactly the same for flight ticket purchase for this program otherwise guests may be denied travel by flight. Please ensure that all documents are identical in spelling to the names provided for your cruise reservation including first, middle and last name. Manifests generated by the cruise line must match your travel documents. Guests are responsible to make sure that there are enough pages in their passports for any visas that are required – Minimum two pages for each visa.

Failure to have the required and correct documents ahead of time could result in denial of travel and guests will have to pay for any expenses incurred in order to not proceed with the program or guests may need to purchase new flight tickets at their own cost.

Please note: Land programs that encompass multiple days ashore customarily include extensive and prolonged activity, while those of shorter durations typically have more moderate activity levels. However, each program varies, and participants should be prepared to negotiate a mixture of surfaces which may include inclines, cobblestones, sand, gravel and natural paths. There may also be a need to climb steps or stairs on occasion. Guests who utilize a wheelchair and those with mobility concerns are advised to check with the cruise line in advance to see if any portion of the tour program may not be considered suitable for their individual situation.

All land programs are capacity controlled and subject to availability. Programs falling under the minimum number of required participants are subject to cancellation. Pricing listed is also subject to change to meet unexpected cost increases for transportation, land arrangements or currency fluctuations.

Once purchased, pricing is guaranteed and not subject to change. Mid-cruise overland programs must be purchased no later than 90 days prior to your sail date. Cancellations made within 90 days or less prior to the sail date are subject to 100% cancellation penalty.
