OVERLAND-KMHER KALEIDOSCOPE & ANGKOR WAT CODE: SINLA9
This incredible journey invites guests to reflect on the past as they experience the present opportunities and beauty of today. Begin with a visit to the sobering Tuol Sleng Museum in Phnom Penh, a sobering reminder of the brutal tragedy brought about by the temporary rule of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge in the 1970s. Regroup in the Russian Market to experience the present resilience and beauty of the local culture. Take in the traditional design of The Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, built upon the site of the Banteay Kev, a citadel built in 1813. Finally, visit the wondrous Angkor Wat for an unforgettable experience.
All travelers (Tourists, Expats and Cambodians) are now required to submit a Cambodia e-Arrival Card within 7 days before their arrival via a mobile app or at https://arrival.gov.kh/
DAY 1 – 15 de abril de 2025
Disembark the ship in Singapore and transfer by coach to the airport for a flight to Phnom Penh.
Upon arrival in Phnom Penh you will be met and assisted with obtaining a Cambodian Entry Visa. Once this has been issued, proceed to your hotel for check-in. Dinner is included at the hotel.
Day 2 – 16 de abril de 2025
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before setting out. This morning visit Tuol Sleng Museum, originally a local high school which was taken over in 1975 by the Khmer Rouge and converted into “Security Prison 21” (S - 21). During the three years of Khmer Rouge brutality the prison became synonymous with terror. Today the prison has reopened as a museum and offers a grim reminder of the excesses of the Khmer Rouge.
After you have had time to absorb the tragic events, your guide will return you to hotel via a Russian Market to lighten your spirits as you browse the various goods on offer, re-assured that despite the country’s dark history, the good people of Cambodia have persevered.
Named thanks to its popularity with visitors from the former USSR in the 1980s, the Russian Market is probably the city's best source of objects d'art and craft items.
Your guide will lead you around the market and be on hand to explain some of the more curious items for sale, including wooden and stone carvings, various ritual objects, silverware, and old Indochinese notes and coins.
Thirty minutes outside of Phnom Penh to the somber 'Killing Fields' of the Khmer Rouge and the mass graves that tells the dark story of Cambodia’s disturbing past.
After lunch at a local restaurant you will visit The Royal Palace. This structure was constructed earlier this century on the site of the Banteay Kev, a citadel built in 1813. Keen-eyed travelers may spot the design is strongly influenced by The Royal Palace in Bangkok.
Together with your guide, venture inside the Palace's Silver Pagoda and its surrounding compound (the only section open to visitors). The Silver Pagoda, also known as Wat Preah Keo, was given its name because of over 5,000 silver tiles (weighing 1kg each) that cover the floor.
Continue your exploration of Phnom Penh at the National Museum of Khmer Art and Archaeology, otherwise known as 'Musée des Beaux-Arts' or 'Musée Albert Sarraut'. This museum is considered to be one of the finest museums of classical Cambodian art.
This evening enjoy dinner at Malis or similar before returning to your hotel.
DAY 3 – 17 de abril de 2025
After breakfast and checking out, transfer to the Phnom Penh International Airport for a flight to Siem Reap.
On arrival in Siem Reap you will be met and taken to the Angkor Site to collect your temple passes which are required for touring. Once these have been issued, transfer to your hotel for check-in and a light lunch.
After lunch, venture to the Angkor Wat Temple Complex. You will have approximately 2 hours to explore its archaeological treasures with your guide before returning to your hotel.
Your guide will point out the best spots for taking photos of this massive temple complex as you walk amidst the moss-peppered cobbled pathways, gaze up at the intricately carved tower tops and perhaps climb the steep and narrow temple steps that lead to wide courtyards. Lose yourself in contemplation as you catch the rays of the sun dancing off the bas relief carvings, the chatter of monkeys reverberating off the temple walls.
This evening, enjoy a magical dining experience amid ancient Angkor with rare access to the grounds of a historical temple at night. You are transported to the temple venue, approximately 10 kilometers (six miles) from downtown Siem Reap, where you are greeted by the sound of Khmer drums. Follow the torchlit path into the dining venue and enjoy dinner and drinks accompanied by traditional dance and music.
Day 4 – 18 de abril de 2025
After an early breakfast, check out and transfer to the Siem Reap Airport for a flight to Bangkok.
Upon arrival into Bangkok you will be met and taken to the port where you will re-board the ship.

Opt for anything from an easy walk on a riverside trail to full-day slog into the Cardamom interior. Your adventure butler will happily guide you on the adventure of your choosing. (1-8 hours)
FOREST FORAGING
Discover and taste Cambodia’s natural larder in the company of our camp sous chef and expert forager Bong Van Det. Chef Van Det will be grateful for your help in filling his basket with delicacies for the foraged tasting dinner that follows. (1-2 hours)
CICLISMO DE MONTAÑA
There are mountain biking opportunities for riders of all skill levels. Looking for a virgin run on a forest single track or perhaps a less arduous ride through a Khmer village? Or maybe a drive from camp to the Kirirom Reservoir for a challenging uphill ride and an exhilarating downhill sprint is more your speed. (1-4 hours)
KAYAKING
The Cardamom rainforest has some of the highest annual rainfall in Southeast Asia, which creates a massive system of rivers and estuaries that are ideal for flat-water kayaking. The best opportunities for bird watching are along these barely used water routes, where the rare encounter with a fisherman will be a surprise and a delight. (2.5 hours)
A WILD PHOTO SHOOT
Our adventure butlers will show you some of our favorite photo and video locations, where you might sip a glass of champagne under a waterfall, race downhill on a zipline, drive a Jeep through the forest or hang out with a wildlife alliance ranger. You can become the stars and let us take the photos for you to share on social media.
EXPEDITION BOAT
Our luxury, custom-built expedition boats are perfect for exploring the backwaters of the upper Srey Ambel Estuary and the connecting waterways. Early risers will enjoy a sunrise breakfast on board or on a secluded beach. If you prefer a later expedition, you can opt for a sunset cruise. If you are feeling particularly adventurous, you can ride a bicycle through the jungle to and from the expedition boat.
WILDLIFE ALLIANCE RANGERS ANTI-POACHING PATROL
If you share our passion for protecting the environment, feel free to join the Wildlife Alliance rangers and motorcycle through the forest on an anti-poaching patrol. Funded by Shinta Mani Wild, the camp’s ranger station enables the non-profit Wildlife Alliance to carry out vital conservation work, including protecting animals from poaching, removing snares, protecting the national park from encroachment and preventing illegal logging. (2-5 hours)
WILD COCKTAILS
Have you ever wanted to learn the best way to build, stir, muddle or shake up a cocktail? If so, our mixologist Bong Ae will show you the fine art of perfecting classic cocktails such as a Negroni. Or create your own cocktail and infuse it with whatever flavors you wish.
BIENESTAR
Indulge in pampering treatments at Khmer Tonics, our spa nestled amid giant rocks in the forest. As an alternate to the spa treatment rooms, you may enjoy a river-stone foot massage while soaking in a waterfall pool or indulge in a treatment on the balcony of your private tent with the river rushing below. All treatments are complimentary.

Enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel with the group.
DAY 2 – 16 de abril de 2025
After breakfast, depart from your hotel for an overland journey (approximately 3-hours) through the northern Thai countryside to Chiang Rai.
En route, make a short stop at the Mae Kachan Hot Springs where you can dip your feet in the natural hot water pools. Continue the drive towards Chiang Rai and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, travel to the Golden Triangle for a scenic boat ride to a viewpoint overlooking the Mekong River. Here you will see the spot where three countries meet - Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar.
Nearby, visit the Hall of Opium which offers an interesting insight into the history of the opium trade which once affected many hill tribe villagers in this area. Learn about the impacts of the poppy as well as the steps made to help the Golden Triangle community in more recent times.
Continue to your hotel. Accompany the elephants on their daily walk in the jungle and watch them roam freely in their natural habitat. See how the gentle giants splash in the river, play in the mud or snack on jungle leaves.
Celebrate the artistic heritage of the old Lanna kingdom with a farewell dinner in the rice field. Savor a traditional khantoke meal where a selection of classic northern Thai dishes is served on a tray, such as pork curry, green chili dip and other local favorites. Disembark the ship in Singapore and meet your guide before departing on a brief sightseeing tour of the city en route to the airport.
Stop to view Merlion Park, a prominent symbol of Singapore representing the city’s origins as a fishing village and its transformation into a modern metropolis. This mythical creature has the head of a lion and the body of a fish. The lion head symbolizes Singapore's original name, Singapura, which means "Lion City" in Malay, while the fish body represents its humble beginnings as a fishing village.
Then, transfer to Singapore’s Changi Airport for a flight to Bangkok. Upon arrival a local guide will be waiting in the arrivals to meet you for your transfer to your city-based hotel.
After check-in, the remainder of the day is at your leisure with meals on your own.
You’ll find that the Shangri-La Bangkok is an enchanting riverside retreat located right in the heart of the vibrant city of Bangkok. The hotel has eight restaurants and lounges for you to choose from or you may wish to consult with the hotel Concierge for dinner suggestions within the city.
Day 2 – 20 de noviembre de 2026
Strategically positioned on an island between three rivers, the city of Ayutthaya rose to prosperity during the 14th to 18th centuries when the Siamese kingdom flourished through trade between the East and West. Now a UNESCO World Heritage site, the former capital city contains several significant archaeological treasures, including the remains of Buddhist monasteries, temples and palaces.
This morning you will visit the landscaped gardens and the iconic floating pavilion of Bang Pa-In, the Summer Palace and former retreat for Thai kings. Also explore the remains of red brick temples in the old town as well as a Buddha head wrapped inside the roots of a tree at Wat Mahathat.
Enjoy a visit to a local café where you can try a local pancake-like treat made by local vendors and then discover the former Grand Palace.
Sit down for a leisurely lunch with views of nearby temples and river life before continuing to another towering old chedi (bell shaped stupa) that inspired the design of many temples in Bangkok.
Later in the day, transfer to your overnight hotel. The iuDia Hotel is considered a boutique property offering a unique experience with views of the ancient ruins of the Ayutthaya Historical Park. The hotel blends traditional Thai architecture with modern comforts, giving it a distinct charm and sense of place.
Following dinner at the hotel, the evening is at your leisure.
Day 3 – 20 de noviembre de 2026
After breakfast, you will visit Wat Phanan Cheoeng, one of the city’s oldest temples, which features a large Buddha statue. Behind the temple is a small 18th-century shrine built to honor a Chinese princess with a tragic story.
Then visit Wat Chaiwatthanaram: A magnificent Buddhist temple in Ayutthaya situated on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. A number of temples throughout Thailand take their design from this building, an eye-catching arrangement which includes a raised platform and eight towering chedis, or chapels.
Also visit one of many Roti Sai Mai stores which can be found in Ayutthaya. Roti Sai Mai which means sweet angel hair, is a colorful and flavorful dessert in which cotton candy is wrapped in soft, paper-thin, Pandan-flavored crepes. It has become Ayutthaya’s signature dessert snack. Some people may even say that no visit to Ayutthaya is complete without eating some Roti Sai Mai! During this stop, walk through the shop, down the stairs and under the base of the store to see how the roti sai mai is prepared from scratch. See the huge caldrons of palm oil and sugar and how bags of sai mai are packed and ready to be sold. Also see the countless benches where the sai mai are prepared and hand pulled.
One of the highlights of the day will be a cruise along the Chao Phraya River on the Grand Pearl. Enjoy a buffet lunch featuring a variety of Thai and Western dishes as you cruise along the river back to Bangkok. Relax and take in the riverside lifestyle along the way.
Upon arrival at the Sri Phra Ya shopping center Pier, transfer to the port of Laem Chabang where you will re-board the ship.
